The Federal Ministry of Finance has embarked on the Financial Year (FY) 2020 Statutory Borrowers Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of all Donor Assisted Projects nationwide.

The mission which was scheduled to take place between 7th-30th December, 2020 is aimed at; ensuring that the Project Development Objectives of Donor Assisted Project are achieved; review of the implementation progress of all the Projects components; follow-up on all outstanding issues and next-step at the end of the last implementation support mission.

Also included in the objectives of the mission are; review of the disbursement level, identify bottlenecks/challenges that hinder smooth implementation; provide support to Project Implementation Units for effective coordination of project implementation.

Upon arrival to Kano State today, the visiting team which is composed of the Director Department of International Economic Relations FMF also the team Leader hajiya Aisha Omar Mahmud, Deputy Director Abdulfatah Abdussalam among others, met with the State Projoect Coordinators of various donor projects in the State in the office of the State Commissioner of Finance Alhaji Shehu Na-Allah Kura, the host.

A briefing was held between the State Commissioner of Finance, the visiting team and State Project Coordinators, and then headed out for sites visit.

In the course of the mission the team visited the State Integrated Financial Management Information System (State Data Centre) an intervention under SLOGOR, and the intervention also put in place by APPEALS project towards enhancing production, processing and marketing tomatoes, rice and wheat for small holder farmers in Kano State.

Stakeholders converge at the Conference Hall of the Kano-NEWMAP office where they deliberated intensively on issues of concern, putting emphasis on the defined objectives of the mission.

State Commissioner of Finance Alhaji Shehu Na-Allah Kura presided over the session, where presentation on Projects situational report regarding achievements and challenges were made by the head of each Project.
