The Kano State Project Coordinator (PC) of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (Kano-NEWMAP) Alhaji Musa Shuaibu has expressed willingness of his project to handhold the Global University Climate Forum under the Bayero University Kano’s (BUK) Movement for Eco-Restoration Project towards realization of the objectives set to achieve under the project.
The PC made the expression today when the delegation of the Movement from Bayero University Kano paid an exposure visit to his office.
The Project Coordinator commended the efforts of the team for coming up with the idea, espicially now that the environment is becoming more vulnerable to all sorts of threats, which call for the need to encourage every cause that means protecting and safeguarding it.
The PC therefore, assured them of all the necessary support from the Kano-NEWMAP and its partners in the same walk where feasible.
Speaking earlier, team leader of the Forum Adam Bashir Ahmad said that their resolve to pay an exposure visit to Kano-NEWMAP office stemmed from the realization that the project has the technical experience in the area of environmental management, recalling the experience and knowledge he gained during his internship with the Project.
The Global University Climate Forum aimed at impacting the mindset of students and university community at large towards mitigating the catastrophic problem associated with climate change, empower students with creativity and innovative ideas on climate change, connect to the teaming population and inspire them to know more about their environment, said the team leader.
The PC recieved them in the presence of the Environmental Safeguard Officer Alhaji Mukhtar Bello, Social Livelihood Officer Zaynab Jaafar Baba and Natural Resource Officer of the Project Fatima Rufa’i Hanga.
